Houston v Dallas had the wildest finish: Jonathan Bond saved a Musa penalty in the 29th minute, Bogusz scored a penalty in the 94th minute, and Musa equalized from the spot in the 101st. Playoff impact: This was Matchday 31, not Decision Day. Decision Day is Saturday Nov 7. Chicago (48 points, fourth in the East) clinched a playoff spot despite losing at New England, San Jose (48, fourth in the West) clinched with their draw against Nashville, and Houston (47, fifth in the West) clinched with the draw against Dallas, per MLS. That makes nine teams in, after Dallas, New England, Miami and St. Louis clinched midweek. Nashville have already locked up first in the East, and Sporting KC are the first team eliminated.

Table impact: In the East, Nashville (67) lead Miami (55) and New England (52). Chicago (48), Charlotte (47) and Philadelphia (46) are fighting for fourth, which brings home field in Round One. Cincinnati (36) hold ninth, the last playoff place, only on the wins tiebreaker over Toronto (36), with Columbus (35) a point back. In the West, Vancouver (55) lead St. Louis and Dallas (51 each), then San Jose (48) and Houston (47). Cincinnati play D.C. United twice this week because of a September rainout.
