Which matches are most worth watching?

PSG v Barcelona (Tuesday, 3pm ET). It's first against second. Both clubs have six points and a +7 goal difference. PSG have scored 10 in two games, including 4-2 at Man City. Barcelona have scored nine and won 5-2 at Real Betis on Saturday. Barcelona have also gone 17 Champions League games without a clean sheet, the longest run in their history. There's plenty of history too: Luis Enrique won the treble as Barcelona coach, and Ousmane Dembélé and Ferran Torres both used to play there.

Bayern Munich v Arsenal (Wednesday, 3pm ET). Arsenal haven't conceded yet (4-0 on goals) and have won their last 14 league-phase games. Bayern are unbeaten in 39 straight home games at this stage (W37 D2). They come in after a 6-1 win over RB Leipzig on Saturday. Arsenal won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Real Madrid v RB Leipzig (Wednesday, 3pm ET). Leipzig arrive after losing 6-1 at Bayern. They've also lost their last six league-phase away games. Madrid beat Sevilla 4-1 on Sunday, and Yan Diomande faces the club he left in August.

Liverpool v Villarreal (Tuesday, 3pm ET). Liverpool have won 15 of their last 16 home games at this stage. Villarreal have never beaten an English club in the Champions League (D6 L10).

Which games could have the most goals?

These are our picks, based on UEFA's numbers. They're opinions, not predictions you should bet on.

Match Why it could be wild
Bayern v Arsenal Bayern's last eight Champions League games produced 44 goals (5.5 a game), and they've scored in 23 straight. Arsenal's 0 goals conceded is the counterweight.
Club Brugge v Lens Brugge's last six Champions League games produced 31 goals (5.17 a game), including a 4-3 win at Inter. Lens haven't kept a clean sheet in 15 Champions League games.
Aston Villa v Viking Villa's last eight Champions League games produced 34 goals, and they beat Fenerbahçe 6-0. Viking drew 3-3 with Bayern.
Lille v Galatasaray Galatasaray's last six Champions League games produced 26 goals. Lille haven't kept a clean sheet in their last ten.
PSG v Barcelona That's 19 goals between them in four games.

Where could an upset happen?

  • Sabah v Dortmund. Sabah have won all five of their European home games this season, scoring 14 and conceding 2. Dortmund have lost their last four Champions League away games, which ties a club record.
  • Napoli v Bodø/Glimt. Napoli have no points and have lost their last three, which ties their worst losing run in the competition. Bodø/Glimt knocked Inter out last season.
  • Inter v Shakhtar. Inter are 29th with no points after a club-record four straight Champions League defeats. Shakhtar are 11th and unbeaten.

Which big-name players should I watch?

  • Erling Haaland (Man City v AEK). He has 61 goals in 60 Champions League games, and his double against PSG made him City's record scorer in the competition.
  • Harry Kane (Bayern v Arsenal). He's scored in nine straight Champions League appearances and has 15 goals in 22 games against Arsenal.
  • Ousmane Dembélé (PSG v Barcelona). He's scored in each of his last six Champions League appearances, which ties Kylian Mbappé's record for a French player.
  • Lamine Yamal (PSG v Barcelona). He has been involved in five of Barcelona's goals in two games (one goal, four assists).
  • Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid v Leipzig). He's scored in his last four Champions League games.
